Correlation of structural, electrical and optical properties of Al-doped ZnO TCOs

Rajan Singh et al.

Summary: In this study, AZO films with thicknesses of 2-5 μm were deposited using RF magnetron sputtering. The films were characterized using various techniques, including XRD, Raman spectroscopy, UV-visible spectroscopy, four-point probe method, and Hall effect measurements. The results showed that the films were crystalline in nature with a preferred orientation along the c-axis. The average crystallite size increased with film thickness, and the films exhibited a decrease in resistivity with increasing carrier concentration and mobility. The optical transmittance decreased with increasing film thickness, and the band gap of the films ranged between 3 and 3.2 eV.

Investigation of post-annealing effect on Al:ZnO thin films crystallinity and photoluminescence properties

Heydar Honarvar Nazari et al.

Summary: We investigated the effects of sputtering deposition and thermal annealing on the structural, optical, and photoluminescence properties of Al:ZnO (AZO) thin films. The results show that higher annealing temperature can modify the crystal orientation and grain size, as well as decrease the band gap. Post-annealing can suppress localized states and improve emission intensity, further enhancing the performance of the material.

Growth of Aluminum Doped Zinc Oxide Nanostructure Thin Films by Nonconventional Sol-Gel Method

Maher Alrefaee et al.

Summary: This work demonstrates the growth of undoped and Al doped ZnO thin films using a nonconventional sol-gel method. The structural, morphological, optical, and electrical properties of the obtained thin films were studied. It was found that increasing the doping concentration led to a decrease in absorption coefficient, an increase in bandgap, and a decrease in extinction coefficient. Additionally, the conductivity and carrier concentration of the films increased sharply with increasing aluminum quantity.
