Temperature Induced Gelation and Antimicrobial Properties of Pluronic F127 Based Systems

Alexandra Lupu et al.

Summary: Different formulations containing Pluronic F127 and polysaccharides were investigated as potential injectable gels. The addition of ZnO nanoparticles, lysozyme, or curcumin tested the antimicrobial properties. The balance between viscoelastic and antimicrobial characteristics needs to be considered in the formulation of Pluronic F127 gels suitable for biomedical and pharmaceutical applications.

A polyphenol-modified chitosan hybrid hydrogel with enhanced antimicrobial and antioxidant activities for rapid healing of diabetic wounds

Zejun Xu et al.

Summary: A hydrogel with enhanced antimicrobial and antioxidant properties (CMGFC) was developed to accelerate diabetic wound healing. The CMGFC hydrogel showed high antibacterial efficiency and strong ROS scavenging ability, protecting cells from oxidative stress. In vivo results demonstrated reduced inflammatory responses, enhanced angiogenesis, and improved wound healing with the CMGFC hydrogel.

Insights into current directions of protein and peptide-based hydrogel drug delivery systems for inflammation

X. Janet Bertilla et al.

Summary: Inflammation plays a significant role in various chronic diseases, and the development of effective anti-inflammatory therapies is crucial. However, current clinical approaches have limitations. Protein and peptide-based hydrogels offer potential as drug delivery systems for inflammation, due to their biocompatibility and controlled release properties.

Mixed Pluronic-Cremophor Polymeric Micelles as Nanocarriers for Poorly Soluble Antibiotics-The Influence on the Antibacterial Activity

Maria Antonia Tanase et al.

Summary: Novel polymeric mixed micelles from Pluronic F127 and Cremophor EL were studied as drug delivery systems for Norfloxacin. The optimal molar ratio of surfactants was determined to prepare carriers with minimal surfactant concentrations. The mixed micelles showed tunable extended release of Norfloxacin and good activity against clinical isolated strains, while some cytotoxicity was found at high concentrations.
