Aqueous synthesis of 79% efficient AgInGaS/ZnS quantum dots for extremely high color rendering white light-emitting diodes

Zhe Hu et al.

Summary: In this work, AgInGaS/ZnS core/shell quantum dots with high photoluminescence quantum yield were synthesized using a facile microwave-assisted aqueous route. The emission wavelength of the quantum dots could be tuned by varying the component ratio, and different-colored luminescent hydrogel films were obtained. Additionally, a white light-emitting diode with high color rendering index and correlated color temperature was fabricated using the quantum dot-embedded hydrogel films.

Facile High-Yield Synthesis of Ag-In-Ga-S Quaternary Quantum Dots and Coating with Gallium Sulfide Shells for Narrow Band-Edge Emission

Taro Uematsu et al.

Summary: In this study, monodispersed quaternary nanoparticles of silver indium gallium sulfide (AgInxGa1-xS2) were synthesized without solid byproducts. The high reactivity of silver was utilized to produce small Ag2S nanoparticles, which were then reacted with indium, gallium, and sulfur to form AgInxGa1-xS2 nanoparticles. After coating with gallium sulfide shells, the core/shell quantum dots exhibited intense, green-colored band-edge emission with tunable peak wavelength.

Interface polarization in heterovalent core-shell nanocrystals

Byeong Guk Jeong et al.

Summary: This study presents an approach to control the potential profile of III-V-II-VI h-NCs by steering dipole densities at the interface, allowing for control of the optical and electrical characteristics of these heterostructured nanocrystals. The synthesis of h-NCs with atomic precision enables correlation of interfacial dipole moments with the crystals' photochemical stability and optoelectronic performance. Controlled synthesis of heterostructured III-V-II-VI nanocrystals demonstrates that dipole moments formed at the core-shell interface can tune the optoelectronic properties of these nanomaterials and their performance in light-emitting devices.

Highly efficient green InP-based quantum dot light-emitting diodes regulated by inner alloyed shell component

Peng Yu et al.

Summary: In this study, we reported highly efficient green-emitting InP-based QLEDs regulated by inner alloyed shell components. The insertion of a gradient inner shell layer, ZnSexS1-x, resulted in InP-based QDs with the narrowest full width at half maximum and highest quantum yield. The resulting QLEDs showed high external quantum efficiency and electroluminescence peak, which is significant for the preparation of InP-based green-emitting QLEDs.

Kivanc Gungor et al.

Summary: Researchers have developed an analytical model to predict the optimal performance of CuInSe2-xSx (CISeS) quantum dots in luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs). The model suggests that quantum dots with < Q > = 10.5 and QY = 78% exhibit the highest external quantum efficiency (EQE) under specific conditions.

Photoluminescence Stability Enhancement of Ag-In-Ga-S/GaSx Core/Shell Quantum Dots with Thicker Shells by the Addition of Gallium Diethyldithiocarbamate

Watcharaporn Hoisang et al.

Summary: In this study, a spectrally narrow band edge emission in the green region was generated from cadmium-free quantum dots comprised of silver indium gallium sulfide coated by gallium sulfide shells. The thickness of the gallium sulfide shell was increased using gallium tris(diethyldithiocarbamate) as a supplementary precursor, showing strong adhesion with the quantum dot cores. Photoluminescence intensity and spectral shape of the core/shell quantum dots with the thicker shells remained unchanged after 90 days.

Summary: Cadmium-free quantum dots made of silver-indium-gallium-sulfide (AIGS) were successfully synthesized at a low temperature of 150 degrees Celsius by introducing a gallium diethyldithiocarbamate precursor. The quantum dots exhibited a tetragonal crystal phase and high photoluminescence quantum yield, with a pure green emission at 518 nm achieved by adjusting the gallium content in the core.

Pushing the Band Gap Envelope of Quasi-Type II Heterostructured Nanocrystals to Blue: ZnSe/ZnSe1-XTeX/ZnSe Spherical Quantum Wells

Jun Hyuk Chang et al.

Summary: Quasi-type II heterostructured nanocrystals have shown great potential for controlling charge carriers, but material choices have limited their emission wavelength range. By engineering the layers and wave functions, ZnSe/ZnSe1-XTeX/ZnSe/ZnS NCs exhibit near-unity photoluminescence quantum yield across a broad range of emission wavelengths (450nm to 600nm). Dichromatic white NC-based light-emitting diodes using a mixed layer of blue- and yellow-emitting ZnSe/ZnSe1-XTeX/ZnSe/ZnS SQW NCs have been successfully demonstrated.
