Optically addressable universal holonomic quantum gates on diamond spins

Yuhei Sekiguchi et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates precise manipulation of an optically selected electron spin in a nitrogen-vacancy center in diamond through microwave-driven holonomic quantum gates. Optically addressable entanglement is achieved between the electron spin and an adjacent nitrogen nuclear spin. This research is significant for the development of large-scale quantum processors and memories.

A quantum router architecture for high-fidelity entanglement flows in quantum networks

Yuan Lee et al.

Summary: The past decade has seen significant progress in experimentally realizing the building blocks of quantum repeaters. A quantum router architecture comprising many quantum memories connected in a photonic switchboard has been proposed to maintain entanglement fidelity over long-distance links and improve entanglement distribution rates. This architecture enables channel-loss-invariant fidelity and automatically prioritizes entanglement flows across the network, without requiring global network information.

Investigation of the Stark Effect on a Centrosymmetric Quantum Emitter in Diamond

Lorenzo De Santis et al.

Summary: This study experimentally quantifies the electric field dependence of individual tin-vacancy (SnV) centers in diamond and shows that their permanent electric dipole moment and polarizability are at least 4 orders of magnitude smaller than for the diamond nitrogen vacancy (NV) centers. Additionally, the researchers demonstrate that by modulating the electric-field-induced dipole, SnV can be used as a nanoscale probe of local electric field noise, highlighting the effect of spectral diffusion on SnV.

Resonant Excitation and Purcell Enhancement of Coherent Nitrogen-Vacancy Centers Coupled to a Fabry-Perot Microcavity

M. Ruf et al.

Summary: The study overcame the challenge of poor optical coherence of NV centers, successfully enabling resonant addressing and collection of coherent photon emissions from individual NV centers. By utilizing resonant and off-resonant addressing protocols, enhancements of up to 4 times were achieved, surpassing current technology. This marks an important step towards establishing long-coherence quantum networks.

Impact of surface and laser-induced noise on the spectral stability of implanted nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond

Srivatsa Chakravarthi et al.

Summary: Successful creation of single NV centers was achieved using N-15 ion implantation and high-temperature vacuum annealing, with optical linewidth close to the lifetime limit. The results suggest that the interaction between NV centers and the surface has a significant impact on optical coherence, rather than the implantation damage.
