Increased burden of cardiovascular disease in people with liver disease: unequal geographical variations, risk factors and excess years of life lost

Wai Hoong Chang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the burden, risk, and premature mortality of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in patients with liver disease. The findings revealed a higher incidence rate of CVD in liver disease patients, along with associations between specific clinical factors and CVD risk. Geographical variations in burden were also observed. These findings are important for improving cardiovascular health management in liver disease patients.

Late effects of cancer in children, teenagers and young adults: Population-based study on the burden of 183 conditions, in-patient and critical care admissions and years of life lost

Wai Hoong Chang et al.

Summary: The study aims to systematically quantify the cumulative burden of late effects among cancer survivors and investigate the association between treatment exposures and late effects using linked electronic health records. The findings reveal that different cancer types and treatment modalities are associated with varying late effects burdens and risks of premature mortality.

Effects of Lifestyle Modification on Patients With Resistant Hypertension Results of the TRIUMPH Randomized Clinical Trial
