Nitrogen Agronomic Efficiency and Estimated Losses in Potato with Enhanced-Efficiency Fertilizers

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of enhanced-efficiency nitrogen fertilizers on potato yield and nitrogen fertilizer use efficiency, and investigate the impact of drainage water on nitrogen fertilizer use efficiency. The results showed that combining enhanced-efficiency nitrogen fertilizers with low drainage water irrigation management can maximize fertilizer use efficiency and reduce nitrogen losses.

The results showed differences in nutrient requirements and balance among regions and cultivars, highlighting the importance of considering soil conditions and cultivar nutrient uptake/translocation capacity when establishing fertilizer rates.

Critical phosphorus dilution curve and the phosphorus-nitrogen relationship in potato

Summary: This study compared P nutrition status curves for potatoes from different countries, analyzed P dilution in vines and tubers, and found that the Pc curve for total biomass was slightly lower than those developed in Argentina and Colombia. The research also suggested that analyzing the P nutrition status of vines first can estimate P sufficiency before tuber initiation.

Critical plant phosphorus for winter wheat assessed from long-term field experiments

Summary: This study investigated the effects of long-term different P fertilization rates on winter wheat shoot biomass and grain yield, finding that P fertilization did not affect grain yield but generally increased shoot biomass. The concentrations of shoot P and N varied with years and crop N status. A dilution curve was developed between Pc and shoot biomass, showing a linear relationship with N and a power function with shoot N concentration.
