Outcome of thoracoscopic anatomical sublobar resection under 3-dimensional computed tomography simulation

Akira Hamada et al.

Summary: This study retrospectively reviewed data from 112 consecutive patients with clinical stage IA non-small cell lung cancer who underwent thoracoscopic anatomical sublobar resection. The results showed that this technique under 3DCT simulation may be an acceptable alternative treatment for selected patients with NSCLC, with favorable long-term outcomes.

Preoperative percutaneous needle indigo carmine and lipiodol mixture marking in lung segmentectomy

Takuya Matsui et al.

Summary: Preoperative marking with an indigo carmine and lipiodol mixture in thoracoscopic pulmonary segmentectomy achieved successful localization in 96% of patients, with the marking group showing longer distances between lung surface and tumor, smaller tumor sizes, and consolidation tumor ratios compared to the non-marking group. Despite these differences, both groups had similar surgical outcomes and perioperative complications.

Summary: This study compared the perioperative outcomes of anatomical sublobar resection with and without subsegmentectomy for malignant lung tumors, finding similar rates of complications and postoperative pulmonary functions in both groups.

Anatomical Pulmonary Sublobar Resection Based on Subsegment

Weibing Wu et al.

Summary: The novel sublobar resection technique based on subsegment allows for more precise removal of malignant nodules with the guidance of three-dimensional imaging, while preserving more pulmonary parenchyma. However, further follow-up is needed to assess the oncologic efficacy and impact on pulmonary function.
