Identification of homogeneous rainfall regions in New South Wales, Australia

Summary: This study focuses on identifying homogeneous regions with minimum non-separation using rectangular Lambert projected coordinates. The Partition Around Medoid algorithm was applied to obtain 10 well-separated clusters. The Mean Squared Prediction Error is smaller for predicting unobserved locations in cluster 3, but increases when predicting the entire monitoring network. Using Lambert coordinates instead of geographic coordinates provides good separation for the identified 10 homogeneous regions.
