Exploration of seaweed consumption in Norway using the norm activation model: The moderator role of food innovativeness

Florent Govaerts et al.

Summary: This study used a sample of Norwegian consumers to explore and predict seaweed consumption using the norm activation framework. The findings revealed a positive relationship between health consequences awareness and intention, as well as ascription of responsibility and intention. Both intention and food innovativeness were found to be predictors of seaweed consumption, and consumer food innovativeness positively moderated the relationship between intention and seaweed consumption.

A GIS and hybrid simulation aided environmental impact assessment of city-scale demolition waste management

Zhikun Ding et al.

Summary: This paper comprehensively evaluates the environmental impact of city-scale demolition waste management from a complex system perspective. A novel evaluation model that integrates GIS and system hybrid simulation is developed. It is found that the environmental impact of city-scale demolition waste management is mainly concentrated in the central and northeastern regions of Shenzhen. The results contribute to a better understanding of the status quo of demolition waste management and the formulation of effective policies.

Towards a bioenergy transition in Italy? Exploring regional stakeholder perspectives towards the Gela and Porto Marghera biorefineries

Pasquale Marcello Falcone et al.

Summary: This study investigates two local transition initiatives and their impact on key stakeholders, finding that narrative pressures from local actors influence perspectives, with national/informal actors being the most influential group. Analysis identified three dominant storylines that represent complementary trajectories defined by national actors operating through informal channels. The comparison of the two cases revealed fundamental differences in cultural, political, and socio-economic contexts, with one presenting as a success story and the other as a complex ongoing process.
