Summary: More than half of the participating blood donors wanted to contribute to the fight against the pandemic, most donors were satisfied with their last donation experience and felt safe, but some wanted more information on how to deal with the pandemic. The intention to return for further donations was strongly associated with overall satisfaction and the feeling of being safe during blood donation.

Cardiovascular Benefits for Blood Donors? A Systematic Review

Summary: This study systematically summarizes and evaluates existing studies on the effects of blood donation on cardiovascular risk and disease. The results show that blood donation may have a protective effect against cardiovascular disease, but the findings are inconsistent and the overall study quality is low. More high-quality research is needed to establish the relationship between blood donation and cardiovascular disease.
