Homeostasis model assessment, serum insulin and their relation to body fat in cats

Emma M. Strage et al.

Summary: The study found that overweight cats have higher HOMA-IR and fasting insulin concentrations compared to lean cats, and these levels correlate with body fat percentage. Population-based reference interval for HOMA-IR in lean cats was established, and the biological variation of HOMA-IR and fasting insulin was calculated.
