Effect of Solenoidal Magnetic Field on Time Evolution of Ion Beam Emittance in Laser Ion Source

Hiroto Katane et al.

Summary: This study examines the effect of applying a solenoidal magnetic field on the time evolution of ion beam emittance and finds that the phase difference of the emittance ellipses increases with the ion current. Additionally, it is observed that the emittance of the ion beam increases with the increasing time range of the averaged current in the waveform.

Laser-driven photoelectron induced pulsed X-ray source for energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and radiography applications

S. Ullah et al.

Summary: The study presents a nanosecond pulsed X-ray source developed for EDX and low-dose fast radiography, which accelerates nanosecond pulsed photoelectrons to high energy for efficient X-ray generation. Experimental results show improved sensitivity for EDX analysis and the ability to capture radiography in a single laser pulse of nanosecond duration using alkali-based photocathodes.

Characterization of 1- and 2-μm-wavelength laser-produced microdroplet-tin plasma for generating extreme-ultraviolet light

R. Schupp et al.

Summary: Experimental spectroscopic studies were conducted on plasma produced by tin microdroplets irradiated by 5-ns-pulsed, 2-mu m-wavelength laser light in the EUV wavelength range. The study found that similar emission spectra and plasma charge state distributions were obtained when maintaining a fixed ratio of 1- to 2-mu m laser intensities, in agreement with simulations.
