Construction of hollow MoS2@N-C nanotubes for lithium-ion batteries

Bin He et al.

Summary: In this study, MoS2/N-doped carbon nanotubes (MoS2@N-C) were synthesized as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). The resulting hybrid architecture exhibited remarkable electrochemical performance, including high rate capacity and stable cyclic performance. The unique hollow structure of MoS2@N-C presents a new pathway for designing high-performance LIBs.

First-principles screening of Pt doped Ti2CNL (N = O, S and Se, L = F, Cl, Br and I) as high-performance catalysts for ORR/OER

Ninggui Ma et al.

Summary: In this study, high-activity ORR/OER bifunctional catalysts were screened using first-principles calculations. By adjusting the electronic properties of MXenes-based catalysts, the catalytic performance of the catalysts was improved. Additionally, catalysts with ultra-low overpotential for ORR, OER, and ORR/OER reactions were identified, which preferentially adsorb O2 instead of hydrogen.

Structural, electronic, mechanical and thermodynamic properties of Cr-Si binary silicides from first-principles investigations

Y. Pan et al.

Summary: Cr-Si binary silicides are promising advanced functional materials widely used in semiconductors, thermoelectric, and high temperature industries. Structural, mechanical, electronic, and thermodynamic properties of Cr-Si silicides were studied using first-principles. A novel Cr2Si orthorhombic structure was predicted and different silicides showed varying properties, with Cr3Si having larger moduli but Cr2Si exhibiting better ductility and plasticity. These findings provide insight into the comprehensive properties of Cr-Si silicides and guide future improvements in their performance.
