The Effect of Different Types of Prostate Biopsy Techniques on Post-Biopsy Infectious Complications

Sofie C. M. Tops et al.

Serum and urine biomarkers for detecting clinically significant prostate cancer

Maria F. Becerra et al.

Summary: Since the PSA era, unnecessary biopsies have led to overtreatment of low-risk cancers, prompting the development of serum and urinary biomarkers. Current research indicates that these biomarkers have the potential to improve detection of clinically significant prostate cancer, reducing overtreatment and improving cost-effectiveness of treatment strategies. Further large prospective studies are needed to fully evaluate the incorporation of biomarkers into routine clinical practice.
