Cost-effectiveness of Robotic-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy for Localized Prostate Cancer in the UK

Summary: This study compares the cost-effectiveness of different surgical techniques for radical prostatectomy in the UK. The results show that robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) is a cost-effective option compared to open radical prostatectomy (ORP) and laparoscopic-assisted radical prostatectomy (LRP). RARP had lower costs and higher quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs) compared to LRP, and although it had higher costs than ORP, the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) was below the willingness-to-pay threshold, making RARP more cost-effective than ORP in the UK.
