Route optimization in township logistics distribution considering customer satisfaction based on adaptive genetic algorithm

Huixia Cui et al.

Summary: This study proposes a new adaptive genetic algorithm to solve issues regarding the timeliness and high cost of logistics distribution in the logistics economy. A large neighborhood search algorithm is introduced to enhance local optimization ability. Additionally, a soft time window town logistics distribution model considering optimal cost and customer satisfaction is established. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed adaptive genetic algorithm.

One-to-many matching and section-based formulation of autonomous ridesharing equilibrium

Mohamadhossein Noruzoliaee et al.

Summary: This paper models autonomous ridesharing in a network equilibrium setting with mixed SAV and HV traffic, and makes two major methodological contributions. It proposes a novel SAV-to-many matching method and a section-based formulation for SAV ridesharing user equilibrium. In addition, it formulates the optimal decisions for SAV fleet size, fare, routing, and allocation, and introduces a new multimodal autonomous ridesharing user equilibrium to anticipate traveler reactions. Insights are obtained from model implementation, including substantial systemwide benefit of ridesharing, marginal benefit of relocation, and diminishing economies of SAV size.

Design of Two-Regional Flexible-Route Bus Systems considering Interregional Demands

Siqing Wang et al.

Summary: This paper studies the flexible-route bus system with inter-regional travel demands. The optimal network layout is determined by considering operator and user costs. The findings indicate that regional flexible transit is suitable for areas with low demand density, and adopting a mode with a loop is better when there are numerous inter-regional demands.

Demand Responsive Transit Simulation of Wayne County, Michigan

Grace O. Kagho et al.

Summary: Demand responsive transit (DRT) serves as an alternative to private cars and complements existing public transport services. Implementing DRT in car-dependent cities with poor transit accessibility shows potential, particularly in increasing mobility for lower-income individuals. However, specific changes in service characteristics may be necessary to fully realize the benefits of pooling riders in DRT services.
