Boron induced c-axis growth and ammonia sensing signatures of spray pyrolysis deposited ZnO thin films - Relation between crystallinity and sensing

Prabakaran Shankar et al.

Summary: Optimized spray pyrolysis deposition parameters are reported for the development of c-axis oriented boron-doped zinc oxide thin films. 2% boron dopants promote the growth of specific crystal planes and increase the crystallite size. 10% boron dopants result in stress and band gap changes in the zinc oxide films, as well as enhanced ammonia sensing performance.

Investigation of soft X-ray optical properties and their correlation with structural characteristics of zirconium oxide thin films

Mangalika Sinha et al.

Summary: This study explores the use of oxide-based compound materials as coating for soft X-ray optical applications, investigating the correlation between structural characteristics and soft X-ray optical properties of zirconium oxide thin films of varying thicknesses. Results show that marginal variations in O/Zr ratio and O-vacancies in the films of different thicknesses do not significantly impact the soft X-ray optical response near the O K-edge region.

Growth of α-Fe2O3 thin films by plasma deposition: Studies of structural, morphological, electrochemical, and thermal-optical properties

Jose Weliton Nogueira Junior et al.

Summary: Iron oxide thin films were grown on glass slides and AISI 304 austenitic steel substrates using plasma deposition, with different deposition conditions for each substrate. The films showed hematite crystalline structures, well-shaped morphology, and improved corrosion resistance with optimal gas flow rates during deposition. Overall, the study highlighted the importance of deposition parameters on the properties of iron oxide films for potential corrosion protection applications.
