Predictors of Spontaneous Restoration of Lumbar Lordosis after Single-Level Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion for Degenerative Lumbar Diseases

Summary: This retrospective cohort study aimed to investigate the association between preoperative postural correction of lumbar lordosis, sagittal malalignment, and lumbar flexibility with postoperative restoration of lumbar lordosis in patients undergoing single-level transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion surgery. The results showed that preoperative postural correction significantly correlated with postoperative restoration of lumbar lordosis, indicating the importance of preoperative evaluation for predicting postoperative improvement of sagittal alignment. Surgeons should pay attention to preoperative postural correction of lumbar lordosis in patients with lumbar degenerative disease and sagittal malalignment undergoing short-segment fusion surgery.
