AIEE active stilbene based fluorescent sensor with red-shifted emission for vapor phase detection of nitrobenzene and moisture sensing

Sanwa Rafique et al.

Summary: A novel stilbene-based sensor with enhanced red-shifted fluorescence emission was synthesized for sensitive and selective detection of nitrobenzene. The fluorescence intensity of the sensor was quenched upon interaction with nitrobenzene, which was attributed to the combined effect of the smaller size of nitrobenzene and photo-induced electron transfer process. This study provides a new approach for the detection of nitrobenzene in solution and vapor phase using an active bathochromic shifted fluorescent sensor with AIEE property.

DFT study of transition metals doped calix-4-pyrrole with excellent electronic and non-linear optical properties

Areeba Asif et al.

Summary: A detailed comparative study was conducted on transition metal doped calix-4-pyrrole to determine their optical, electronic, and non-linear optical properties. The study found that doping of transition metals improved the diffused excess electrons, resulting in a lower energy gap. The polarizability and hyperpolarizability of the doped structures also increased significantly. Non-covalent interaction analysis and density of state diagrams showed that the interaction between the cage and dopants was mainly due to intermolecular forces. The study also confirmed the thermodynamical stability of the synthesized complexes through various calculations.
