Fluorescent Cu(II) complex as chemosensor for the detection of L-Aspartic acid with high selectivity and sensitivity

M. Ranjani et al.

Summary: 3-methoxysalicylaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (PL) was used as a chemosensor to detect various cations, with Cu2+ and Hg2+ ions showing significantly decreased fluorescence intensity and colorimetric titrations. A green microcrystalline product (CuPL) was obtained with Cu2+ ions, and it was confirmed to be a fluorescence probe for L-amino acids, particularly showing high selectivity and sensitivity for L-aspartic acid (CuPLAA).

Congo red dye removal from aqueous environment by cationic surfactant modified-biomass derived carbon: Equilibrium, kinetic, and thermodynamic modeling, and forecasting via artificial neural network approach

Ceren Karaman et al.

Summary: This study aimed to optimize, model, and forecast the biosorption of Congo Red onto biomass-derived bio-sorbent. The waste-orange-peels were processed to fabricate biomass-derived carbon, which was activated and modified. The physicochemical properties of the biosorbents were explored, and the effects of various factors on biosorption capacity were investigated. The findings revealed that the optimized ANN model can predict the behavior of the biosorption process accurately.

Carbon Quantum Dots as Fluorescence Nanochemosensors for Selective Detection of Amino Acids

Nunzio Tuccitto et al.

Summary: Fluorescent carbon quantum dots (CDs) are used as fluorescent nanochemosensors for selectively detecting amino acids, with their fluorescence properties being strongly influenced by interactions with different amino acids at the surface. The discrimination capability is demonstrated through tensor rank decomposition of differences induced by surface reactions in excitation-emission maps and by a common machine learning approach based on artificial neural networks.

Intrinsic dual-emissive carbon dots for efficient ratiometric detection of Cu2+ and aspartic acid

Sara Karami et al.

Summary: In this study, novel intrinsic dual-emitting carbon dots were prepared for ratiometric determination of Cu2+ and aspartic acid (Asp). The CDs exhibited a pH-switchable emission behavior and showed high selectivity and sensitivity for Cu2+ and Asp detection. The potential application of this ratiometric nanoprobe for sensing in real samples was confirmed by acceptable detection results in river water and human serum samples.
