Modeling the Dynamic Variability of Sub-Relativistic Outer Radiation Belt Electron Fluxes Using Machine Learning

Donglai Ma et al.

Summary: In this study, a set of neural network models are proposed to accurately reproduce the dynamics of electron fluxes in the outer radiation belt. These models have reliable prediction capability and can be applied to a wide range of space weather applications.

Relativistic Electron Model in the Outer Radiation Belt Using a Neural Network Approach

Xiangning Chu et al.

Summary: The ORIENT-R model, utilizing a neural network approach with only solar wind conditions and geomagnetic indices as input, accurately predicts relativistic electron fluxes >1.8 MeV in the Earth's outer radiation belt. The model demonstrates high correlation and consistency in out-of-sample data, showing good capability in identifying and simulating the influencing factors of outer radiation belt dynamics.
