Summary: This study demonstrates the use of pentaerythritol (PER) as a crosslinking agent to connect poly (acrylic acid) (PAA) binder to Si particles, forming a three-dimensional interconnected network that enhances the integrity and cycle stability of the electrode. The results show that Si electrodes with crosslinked PAA-PER binder exhibit improved adhesion and elasticity, and maintain higher discharge capacity compared to purely PAA-based Si electrodes. Moreover, the crosslinked PAA-PER binder has no negative effects on the SEI formation and functionality in Si electrodes.

In-situ construction of chemically bonded conductive polymeric network for high-performance silicon microparticle anodes in lithium-ion batteries

2D Silicon-Germanium-Layered Materials as Anodes for Li-Ion Batteries

Summary: The 2D Si-Ge alloy materials, known as siliganes, have been developed for use as anodes in Li-ion batteries, offering reasonable cost and promising electrochemical performance. Among them, the siligane_Si0.9Ge0.1 showed the best performance, with a reversible capacity of 1325 mA h g-1, high capacity retention, and coulombic efficiency at a current density of 0.05 A g-1 after 10 cycles.
