Boosting Electrochemical Catalysis and Nonenzymatic Sensing Toward Glucose by Single-Atom Pt Supported on Cu@CuO Core-Shell Nanowires

Yuanmeng Zhao et al.

Summary: It is critical to develop high-performance electrocatalysts for electrochemical nonenzymatic glucose sensing. In this work, a single-atom Pt supported on Cu@CuO core-shell nanowires (Pt-1/Cu@CuO NWs) for electrochemical nonenzymatic glucose sensor is designed. The Pt-1/Cu@CuO NWs exhibit outstanding electrocatalytic performance towards glucose, with lower onset potential and higher response current compared to Cu NWs. Sensors fabricated using Pt-1/Cu@CuO NWs also show high sensitivity, low detection limit, wide linear range, excellent selectivity, and great long-term stability. The work provides a new pathway for exploring highly active single-atom catalysts for electrochemical nonenzymatic glucose sensing.

Highly conjugated three-dimensional van der Waals heterostructure-based nanocomposite films for ultrahigh-responsive TEA gas sensors at room temperature

Shaofeng Shao et al.

Summary: Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have great potential for gas sensing detection due to their predesigned pi-electronic skeletons and highly ordered topological structures. By combining COFs with carbon nanomaterials and metal oxide semiconductors, high-quality van der Waals heterojunctions can be constructed, leading to improved sensing performance. The use of machine learning methods such as principal component analysis (PCA) and support vector machine (SVM) further enhances the sensing capabilities of the sensor through the synergies of core-shell van der Waals heterostructures.

Electrospinning Derived NiO/NiFe2O4 Fiber-in-Tube Composite for Fast Triethylamine Detection under Different Humidity

Jiaqi Yang et al.

Summary: Designing high-performance triethylamine gas sensors with stable gas response and low resistance variation in air under a wide relative humidity range is important for human health and environmental surveillance. In this study, a novel porous NiO/NiFe2O4 fiber-in-tube nanostructure is prepared and evaluated for its gas sensing performance. The results show that introducing NiO as the second component improves the sensor's baseline resistance and gas sensing performance. The sensor with a Ni/Fe molar ratio of 1.5 exhibits the best performance, with a significantly higher gas response and excellent humidity resistance.
