Effect of P2O5 on the viscosity of yellow phosphorus slag in electric furnace at high temperatures

Zhibin Lu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of P2O5 on the structure and viscosity of slag in phosphorus smelting. The results showed that the addition of P2O5 slightly increased the viscosity of slag at high temperatures, but decreased it below the liquidus temperature. Furthermore, the increase of P2O5 content also had a negative impact on the formation of solid phase.

A clean process for phosphorus recovery and gallium enrichment from phosphorus flue dust by sodium carbonate roasting

Wentao Ji et al.

Summary: A green and efficient method was developed to recover phosphorus and enriched gallium from phosphorus flue dust. Through Na2CO3 roasting and water leaching, phosphorus and gallium were effectively recovered with recovery rates of 85.38% and about 0.1% respectively. The process is technically simple and does not generate hazardous substances.

Sustainable phosphorus supply by phosphorus recovery from steelmaking slag: a critical review

Huafang Yu et al.

Summary: Phosphorus is a crucial resource for agriculture and industry, but high-grade phosphorus reserves are depleting rapidly. It is urgent to find alternative phosphorus resources for sustainable supply. Steelmaking slag is an attractive secondary phosphorus resource due to its high phosphorus content, abundant supply, stable composition, and minimal contamination.

Separation of calcium chloride from waste acidic raffinate in HCl wet process for phosphoric acid manufacture: Simulated and experimental study

Li Lv et al.

Summary: This study achieved phosphoric acid manufacture by HCl wet process without phosphogypsum by recovering pure CaCl2.2H(2)O from acidic raffinate. The sequential order of precipitation for different components in the raffinate was determined through simulation and calculation. One-step and multi-steps neutralization processes were designed to separate impurities. Well-crystallized CaCl2.2H(2)O with high purity was obtained after evaporative crystallization.

Recovery of gallium from yellow phosphorus flue dust by vacuum carbothermal reduction

Wentao Ji et al.

Summary: Yellow phosphorus flue dust (YPFD) is a solid waste generated from yellow phosphorus production and contains approximately 0.05% gallium (Ga). A new vacuum thermal reduction method was proposed to recover Ga from YPFD, with experimental results confirming the feasibility of this approach. This study offers a potential technology for recovering Ga from YPFD and presents a practical approach for comprehensive utilization of industrial waste.

Recovery of Zinc and Lead from Copper Smelting Slags by Chlorination Roasting

Xueyi Guo et al.

Summary: In this study, CaCl2 was used as a chlorination agent to recycle zinc and lead from copper smelting slags. The results showed that the recovery ratio of zinc and lead reached 74.74% and 94.72% under typical conditions. However, excessively high roasting temperatures and long roasting time can negatively impact the metal recovery ratio.

Separation and recovery of heavy metals zinc and lead from phosphorus flue dust by vacuum metallurgy

Wentao Ji et al.

Summary: The vacuum metallurgy method proposed in this study successfully achieved the pre-separation and efficient recovery of Zn and Pb from YPFD, with recovery rates reaching 92.47% and 99.78%, respectively, under optimized conditions. Ga in the residue was also recovered with little loss by raising the reaction temperature to 1323 K. The entire process is short, with no waste water discharge, low pollution emission levels, providing a clean and sustainable way to reuse YPFD.

A stepwise separation process for selective recovery of gallium from hydrochloric acid leach liquor of coal fly ash

Zesen Zhao et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the potential use of PUF as an adsorbent for Ga(III) recovery in strongly acidic solutions, showing stable adsorption performance and high selectivity. A stepwise process involving Fe(III) removal and Ga(III) adsorption successfully recovered Ga from coal fly ash, with PUF maintaining its adsorption capacity after multiple cycles of use.
