A high-selectivity NIR fluorescent probe for detection of nitric oxide in saliva samples and living cells imaging

Shan Jiao et al.

Summary: A near-infrared fluorescent probe CS-Se based on Changsha dye was designed and synthesized for detecting nitric oxide (NO) concentration in oral diseases. The probe exhibited high selectivity and sensitivity, with a low toxicity for monitoring endogenous NO. This study presents the first fluorescent probe that can measure the concentration of NO in oral diseases and has promising potential for evaluating the progression of oral diseases.

Development of a ratiometric nitric oxide probe with baseline resolved emissions by an ESIPT and rhodol ring opened-closed integrated two-photon platform

Xumei Wang et al.

Summary: In recent years, fluorescence sensing has gained attention as a non-invasive and easy-to-use method for monitoring cellular inflammation through the measurement of nitric oxide. Two-photon excitation microscopy and ratiometric-based nitric oxide fluorescent sensors have been developed to improve imaging resolution and accuracy. However, the interference of two emission peaks remains a challenge in this field. In this study, a novel ratiometric two-photon NO fluorescent probe was successfully designed and synthesized, which showed high accuracy and minimal interference between emission peaks.
