Alternative method for canagliflozin oxidation analysis using an electrochemical flow cell-Comparative study

Filip Vymyslicky et al.

Summary: This study explores the potential of electrochemical flow cells for oxidative-stress testing of active pharmaceutical ingredients using canagliflozin as a model substance. Through experimental design and data optimization, the most suitable conditions for electrochemical oxidation were determined, with electrolyte pH and flow rate identified as the most significant independent variables. Compared to the chemical method using hydrogen peroxide, electrochemical oxidation method showed significant time and cost savings.

Comparison of static and dynamic mode in the electrochemical oxidation of fesoterodine with the use of experimental design approach

Ewa Bartosinska et al.

Summary: The electrochemical conversion of fesoterodine was evaluated using a wall-jet flow cell, comparing traditional static and dynamic modes of electrolysis. Experimental data was statistically assessed using Taguchi L18 design, with optimization performed based on results. The use of large-surface glassy carbon electrode and a pH of around 7 were found to be significant factors influencing the electrochemical oxidation of fesoterodine in both modes.
