Road-Map Aided GM-PHD Filter for Multivehicle Tracking With Automotive Radar

Kun Shi et al.

Summary: This article presents an approach for vehicle tracking using road-map information, employing the RA-GMPHD filter and automotive radar. The vehicle dynamics are modeled in road coordinates and approximately mapped to ground coordinates considering map errors. Additionally, a variable structure interacting multiple model is integrated into the RA-GMPHD filter, considering both the dynamic uncertainty of targets and the road geographic constraints. Extensive simulations and physical testings demonstrate the superiority of the proposed approach compared to state-of-the-art methods, improving both tracking quality and tracking continuity.
