On the Use of Haloalkane/Acrylate-Based Holographic Gratings as Compression and Rotation Sensors

Riccardo Castagna et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigated the use of highly transparent holographic phase reflection and transmission volume gratings as linear compression and rotation sensors. The gratings were recorded in a holographic mixture based on multi-reticulated acrylate and haloalkanes. We used a simplified version of the mixture used in previous works and observed interesting features associated with the roles of rhodamine 6G dye at different writing wavelengths. The reflection gratings achieved a maximum diffraction efficiency of around 50% and showed a shift in the reflection peak when used as linear compression sensors. The transmission gratings achieved a maximum diffraction efficiency of around 45% and demonstrated high sensitivity to small rotations in a free-standing configuration.

Pressure response characterization in novel PQ doped poly(MMA-co-LMA) elastic photopolymer

Hongpeng Liu et al.

Summary: A holographic pressure sensor based on a PQ-doped poly(MMA-co-LMA) elastic photopolymer was developed, and its spectrum response performance was characterized. Compared to traditional holographic sensors, this sensor offers a larger linear measurable range and higher sensitivity.

Integrated, Speckle-Based Displacement Measurement for Lateral Scanning White Light Interferometry

Gert Behrends et al.

Summary: LSWLI is a promising technique for high-resolution topography measurements on moving surfaces, where accurate lateral displacement information is essential. Monte Carlo simulations show that uncertainty in displacement measurement has a significant impact on total height uncertainty. Integrated DSC measurements provide precise displacement information without the need for synchronization or calibration, suitable for translatory and rotatory scans.
