Tele-Assessment of Functional Capacity through the Six-Minute Walk Test in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus Type 2: Validity and Reliability of Repeated Measurements

Garyfallia Pepera et al.

Summary: A tele-assessed 6MWT (TL 6MWT) can be used as an alternative method for evaluating functional capacity in patients with DM2. This study assessed the validity and reliability of TL 6MWT and found a high correlation with the indoor, center-based 6MWT (CB 6MWT) and a strong internal reliability for both tests. The results suggest that TL 6MWT performed outdoors is a highly valid and reliable tool for assessing functional capacity in patients with DM2, with no need for repetition.

Prevalence of virtual reality (VR) games found through mental health categories on STEAM: a first look at VR on commercial platforms as tools for therapy

Almira Osmanovic Thunstrom et al.

Summary: Immersive virtual reality games are increasingly being used as a treatment method for mental health problems, but there is little insight into the prevalence and quality of commercially available games for this purpose on platforms like STEAM. The study aimed to assess the prevalence and content of these games, and found that while there are a large number of games available, the majority lacked relevance to mental health or contained inappropriate elements. Commercial platforms are still in the early stages of developing therapeutic content, but have great potential for future use in mental health treatment.
