Assessment of glycosaminoglycan content in bone using Raman spectroscopy

Feasibility of Using Poly[oligo(ethylene glycol) Methyl Ether Methacrylate] as Tumor-Targeted Carriers of Diagnostic Drugs

Summary: Poly[oligo(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate] (POEGMA) was investigated as a potential drug carrier for tumor diagnosis. Different derivatives of POEGMA with varying molecular weights and side chain lengths were synthesized and labeled with radioisotopes or fluorescence dyes. The results showed that the POEGMA derivatives were efficiently taken up by tumor cells and exhibited high accumulation in tumor tissues. In vivo fluorescence imaging using optimized POEGMA derivatives confirmed their suitability as drug carriers for sensitive tumor diagnosis.

Thermoresponsivity of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) microgels in water-trehalose solution and its relation to protein behavior

Summary: This study investigated the interaction between trehalose and PNIPAM microgels, revealing that trehalose molecules interact with the microgels in a water-mediated manner, inhibiting local motion of the polymer and its hydration shell, thereby slowing down dynamics. The findings demonstrate that trehalose predominantly slows down dynamics and leads to preferential exclusion in PNIPAM microgels, similar to behaviors observed in trehalose-protein systems.

Hydration in thermo-responsive oligoether methacrylate hydrogels studied by FT-IR spectroscopy

Summary: The hydration of POEGMAs with different side chain lengths was studied, showing similar hydration of different hydrophilic centers in various POEGMAs, with only quantitative differences in bound water structure. The impact of crystallinity on the hydration process was significant, and the water structure in fully swollen PMEO2MA hydrogel was closer to bulk water structure compared to other POEGMA systems with longer oligoether side groups.

Study of of Optical and Electrical Properties of Graphene Oxide

Summary: This work investigates the optical and electrical properties of Graphene oxide (GO) and its variation after reduction. Synthesis of GO material was conducted using the modified Hummers' method, followed by reduction through voltage application. Characterization was done using XRD, SEM, Raman spectroscopy, and UV-Vis spectroscopy, which revealed differences in peak values, transmittance, and bandgap between GO and reduced GO (rGO). The study also measured sheet resistance and calculated the figure of merit for rGO as a transparent electrode.
