Advancements of uncooled infrared microbolometer materials: A review

P. V. Karthik Yadav et al.

Summary: In this article, we have comprehensively explored various materials suitable for infrared bolometer applications and discussed the underlying mechanisms of different device structures. We highlighted the importance of temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) in improving device performance and examined the application of both traditional and novel materials in uncooled microbolometers. Additionally, we discussed the potential of utilizing carbon nanotubes and other doping elements to further tune TCR values and reduce noise.
