Daylighting simulation of a heritage building by comparing matrix methods and solar models

Summary: Lighting simulation is a useful tool for predicting lighting conditions in buildings, with modelers being able to choose from various matrix methods based on building characteristics and analysis objectives. The study compared different matrix methods under various solar models using Radiance-based simulations on a World Heritage building, concluding that the 2PH method combined with the DISC solar model showed the highest accuracy. Despite the potential consideration of the 3PH method, the 2PH method was deemed the best choice for the case study.
