Possible indications for new Higgs bosons in the reach of the LHC: N2HDM and NMSSM interpretations

T. Biekoetter et al.

Summary: Several searches at the LHC have observed local signal excesses at around 400 GeV in the channels of t(t) over bar and tau (+)tau(-). This study investigates the compatibility of these signals with the Next-to-Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (N2HDM) or the Next-to Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). The analysis reveals that the signals in the t(t) over bar and tau (+)tau(-) channels point towards different regions of the parameter space, and an additional Higgs boson at around 96 GeV could also be accommodated. In the context of the NMSSM, a confirmation of a signal in the tt final state would support the alignment-without-decoupling limit of the model.

Tests of gluino-driven radiative breaking of the electroweak symmetry at the LHC

Amin Aboubrahim et al.

Summary: The recent muon g - 2 result, combined with the Brookhaven result, suggests the existence of new physics beyond the Standard Model, which can be described by the electroweak sector of supersymmetry. However, the measurement of the Higgs boson mass indicates a mass scale difference between squarks and sleptons. This can be explained by gluino-driven radiative breaking of the electroweak symmetry, where the large gluino mass leads to a significant splitting between squarks and sleptons.

Is the W-boson mass enhanced by the axion-like particle, dark photon, or chameleon dark energy?

Guan-Wen Yuan et al.

Summary: This study investigates new particles and fields to explain the excess in W-boson mass. The interpretations of axion-like particle and dark photon have been significantly narrowed down by global electroweak fits. The possibility of attributing the W-boson mass anomaly to chameleon dark energy is ruled out by other experiments.

Low energy SUSY confronted with new measurements of W-boson mass and muon g-2

Jin-Min Yang et al.

Summary: The new measurements of the W-boson mass and muon g-2 show significant deviations from the standard model predictions, suggesting the presence of new physics. This study explores the implications of these measurements on low energy supersymmetry and finds that the minimal supersymmetric standard model can explain both measurements within the allowed parameter space, considering theoretical uncertainties. The favored parameter space is characterized by a compressed spectrum between bino, wino, and stau, with the stop around 1 TeV, which may be probed in future LHC searches.

Inert Higgs Dark Matter for CDF II W-Boson Mass and Detection Prospects

Summary: The recent measurement of the W-boson mass at Fermilab suggests the presence of new multiplets beyond the standard model. The introduction of an additional scalar doublet can naturally handle the new W-boson mass and the lightest scalar in the doublet can play the role of dark matter.

Interpreting electroweak precision data including the W-mass CDF anomaly

Alessandro Strumia

Summary: The study globally fits electroweak data and finds that new physics corrections can explain the anomaly in the W boson mass. Tree-level contributions from multi-TeV new physics can fit the anomaly compatibly with collider bounds, while loop-level contributions must be around the weak scale to fit the anomaly.

Electroweak precision fit and new physics in light of the W boson mass

Summary: The measured W boson mass deviates significantly from the prediction of the Standard Model, indicating the presence of nondegenerate multiplets beyond the Standard Model. By performing a global electroweak fit with the new W boson, new values of the oblique parameters are obtained, which can be accommodated in the two-Higgs doublet model.

Summary: This study explores the discrepancy between theory and experiments regarding the muon anomalous magnetic moment, focusing on supersymmetry models with low electroweak naturalness. The results suggest an interpretation within the normal scalar mass hierarchy SUSY model, but demonstrate that the anomaly cannot be explained within the context of natural SUSY or the string landscape.
