Insights into the decomposition of zirconium acetylacetonate using synchrotron radiation: Routes to the formation of volatile Zr-intermediates

Sebastian Grimm et al.

Summary: In this study, the thermal decomposition of Zr(acac)(4) was investigated in a SIC-microreactor on the microsecond time scale. Six important zirconium intermediates were identified in the gas phase for the first time using synchrotron radiation and photoelectron photoion coincidence spectroscopy. The flow field in the microreactor was numerically simulated, showing that helium provides a more uniform flow field than argon.

Enhanced Electrical Performance and Bias-Stress Stability of Solution-Processed Bilayer Metal Oxide Thin-Film Transistors

Qi-Jun Sun et al.

Summary: This study investigates solution-processed indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) thin-film transistors (TFTs) with a bilayer structure by embedding an ultrathin layer of indium zinc oxide (IZO) between the gate dielectric and IGZO film. The optimized IGZO/IZO bilayer TFTs exhibit a high field-effect mobility and improved bias-stress stability compared to single-layer IGZO devices. In addition, the temperature-dependent mobility and V-T characteristics are studied to understand the trap distribution in the bilayer IGZO/IZO and single-layer IGZO TFTs. Moreover, low-voltage bilayer TFTs with high mobility are demonstrated.

Urbach-Energy-Dictated Spatial Propagation of Electrons in Thermodynamically Tuned Amorphous Zirconia Thin Films

Jin-Hyuk Kwon et al.

Summary: Thermodynamically tuned zirconia thin films with diverse Urbach energies exhibit electrical breakdown due to tunneling-driven electron propagation involving virtual photons. An externally applied electric field expands the energy distribution of sub-bandgap states into their spatial distribution, activating tunneling-driven electron propagation through localized observer states with virtual-photon energies. The integral of virtual-photon energies over the entire tunneling path equals the initial energy barrier.

Solution-Processed Dual Gate Ferroelectric-Ferroelectric Organic Polymer Field-Effect Transistor for the Multibit Nonvolatile Memory

Amos Amoako Boampong et al.

Summary: The stable multibit storage operation of solution-processed organic nonvolatile memories based on ferroelectric field-effect transistors (FeFETs) for high density data storage devices is demonstrated. The proposed multibit ONVM structure consists of a p-type polymer semiconductor sandwiched between ferroelectric gate insulators, achieving a 2-bit memory representation with clear memory margins. The DG Fe-FeMT has the potential for cost-effective flexible nonvolatile multibit data storage devices due to its solution-process and low annealing temperatures.
