Online compliance error compensation system for industrial manipulators in contact applications

Monica Katherine Gonzalez et al.

Summary: Industrial manipulators are rarely used in high-force processes due to their inherent low stiffness and significant deformation. This paper proposes an online compensation error system to improve accuracy by calculating compensation values to reduce deformation.

Industrial serial robot calibration considering geometric and deformation errors

Yimin Song et al.

Summary: This paper analyzes the accuracy issues of industrial serial robots and proposes a calibration method that considers both geometric and deformation errors. The study shows that joint deflections are independent of geometric errors and do not affect geometric error propagation. By using a Generalized Cross-Validation method, the problem caused by different units of identified parameters is solved, and the simultaneous identification of both types of errors is achieved. Finally, a step-by-step compensation method is proposed for error correction, and verification is conducted on an actual robot, resulting in higher absolute accuracy.

High-accuracy prediction and compensation of industrial robot stiffness deformation

Congcong Ye et al.

Summary: Industrial robots are useful for machining large complex structural parts due to their flexibility and low cost, but stiffness deformation affects milling accuracy. Traditional stiffness models lack accuracy due to ignored factors. A simulation-driven transfer learning method is proposed for accurate deformation prediction with minimal real data compared to conventional models.

Accuracy analysis in mobile robot machining of large-scale workpiece

Xingwei Zhao et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the accuracy analysis in mobile robot machining, defining a tool center point (TCP) error index to evaluate machining error. The study enumerates different error sources affecting TCP error index and proposes a theoretical accuracy analysis to eliminate it. Results show that the force-controlled grinding head can compensate TCP error effectively, reducing it below 40mm during mobile robot machining.
