Beam optics analysis on magnetic-state-selected atomic clocks with optical detection

Sifei Chen et al.

Summary: In this paper, the authors numerically analyze the beam optics performance of cesium beam tubes based on the magnetic-state-selected and fluorescence detection scheme. They apply Monte Carlo sampling and the finite element method to accurately model the cesium beam tube, and use two key parameters as indicators of its short-term performance. Experimental results show good agreement with the simulation model.

Light shift suppression with pulsed light detection in magnetic-state-selected cesium beam clocks

Yuanhao Li et al.

Summary: The study introduces a new method to suppress light shift in atomic clocks by using pulsed light instead of continuous light for atomic state detection. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of this method in a magnetic-state-selected cesium beam clock, with reduced light shift coefficient and good immunity to laser power fluctuations. The study also analyzes the reasons for the degradation of clock short-term stability.

Compact optically pumped cesium beam atomic clock with a 5-day frequency stability of 7 x 10-15

Xuan He et al.

Summary: Compared to other commercial atomic clocks, cesium beam atomic clocks have superior long-term stability, with optically pumped cesium beam atomic clocks showing even better stability potential due to more interacting atoms. Methods such as laser power stabilization and circuit reconstruction play a key role in achieving good long-term stability for cesium beam atomic clocks. The 5-day stability results released after 75 days of continuous running and measurement represent the best reported stability for compact optically pumped cesium beam atomic clocks.

Summary: This paper analyzes the microwave spectrum line shape and signal-to-noise ratio of a compact optically detected magnetic-state-selection cesium beam clock. By optimizing locking parameters and microwave power, the clock achieves a signal-to-noise ratio of 7.0 x 10(3) in a bandwidth of 1 Hz, with a short-term stability of 4.1 x 10(-12) tau(-1/2) and a five-day Allan standard deviation of 7.7 x 10(-15).
