A Multiobjective Intelligent Decision-Making Method for Multistage Placement of PMU in Power Grid Enterprises

Bin Cao et al.

Summary: The wide area measurement system based on synchronous phasor measurement technology is crucial for dynamic monitoring and wide area protection in modern power systems. This article discusses incomplete observability under single PMU loss and its impact on PMU placement, proposing an improved two-archive algorithm for placement optimization and a fuzzy decision-making method for selecting the best solution. Tests on IEEE bus systems and the Polish 2383-bus system confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Experimental Study on Evolution of Fracture Network and Permeability Characteristics of Bituminous Coal Under Repeated Mining Effect

Lei Zhang et al.

Summary: Mining of upper multilayers in deep coal seams generates cyclic loading-unloading stresses in bottom layers, which improve permeability and enhance coalbed methane gas drainage. Testing showed that permeability increased approximately by 5.8 times after loading-unloading cyclic tests. Different numbers of loading-unloading cycles produced similar fracturing effects, with the largest effect occurring within the effective stress range of 4 to 11 MPa.

Does the porter hypothesis work well in the emission trading schema pilot? Exploring moderating effects of institutional settings

Chenfei Jin et al.

Summary: This study uses a dataset of Chinese private firms to examine the impact of China's SO2 emission trading schema pilot on industrial innovation, and explores the moderating effects of institutional settings from the perspective of new structural economics. The findings support the Porter Hypothesis and suggest that institutional regulation can enhance the policy's impact on industrial innovation. Additionally, both regulatory system and enforcement can positively moderate the effect of the emission trading schema on industrial innovation. Therefore, market-oriented environmental regulation should be enforced with the aid of institutional settings.

First insights into mineralogy, geochemistry, and isotopic signatures of the Upper Triassic high-sulfur coals from the Thai Nguyen Coal field, NE Vietnam

Jing Li et al.

Summary: This study presents the first integrated research on the mineralogical, geochemical, and stable isotope characteristics of high-sulfur coals from the Khanh Hoa open-pit mine in the Thai Nguyen Coalfield of NE Vietnam. The coal formation is attributed to marine influences and is characterized by medium ash yield, low volatile matter yield, and high sulfur content. The mineralogical, geochemical, and isotopic characteristics suggest that the high-sulfur Khanh Hoa coal was formed/preserved in a marine-influenced anoxic environment.

Pilot-scale two-stage constructed wetlands based on novel solid carbon for rural wastewater treatment in southern China: Enhanced nitrogen removal and mechanism

Lixia Jia et al.

Summary: The study found that PHBV/PLA blends significantly improved the removal efficiency of pollutants in constructed wetlands, particularly in terms of ammonia nitrogen, COD, and total phosphorus. Additionally, Rhodocyclaceae and Bacteroidetes were identified as the primary denitrifying bacteria on the surface of PHBV/PLA blends. The presence of PHBV/PLA blends also influenced the gene expression in the wetlands, leading to better denitrification performance.
