How does feed-in tariff and renewable portfolio standard evolve synergistically? An integrated approach of tripartite evolutionary game and system dynamics

Zhuojia Dong et al.

Summary: The interaction and evolution of China's Feed-in Tariff (FIT) and Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) in promoting the healthy development of renewable energy were studied. The study found that introducing a tradable green certificate market in an orderly manner could replace FIT as the main policy, and it is essential to formulate reasonable incentive and penalty mechanisms.

Decision making on investments in photovoltaic power generation projects based on renewable portfolio standard: Perspective of real option

Wang Bangjun et al.

Summary: Replacing the FIT policy with the RPS policy has become a global trend in the reform of renewable energy policy systems. This study establishes a real option model for photovoltaic power generation projects and examines the sequential decision making regarding optimal investment opportunities, installed capacity, and phased investment. The findings indicate that phased investment offers greater flexibility, longer lifespan, higher project values, and reduced risks for investors. Lower technical costs and higher TGC prices are beneficial for acquiring optimal investment opportunities. This study contributes to better decision making in photovoltaic power generation projects and highlights the influence of the RPS policy.

How dynamic renewable portfolio standards impact the diffusion of renewable energy in China? A networked evolutionary game analysis

Yujuan Fang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a dynamic renewable portfolio standard policy and analyzes its impact on renewable energy diffusion in China. Through simulation and game analysis, the results demonstrate that the dynamic quota policy effectively promotes the proportion of wind and solar power generation. The renewable energy quota and on-grid price are identified as the most influential parameters.

Low-carbon transition pathways in the context of carbon-neutral: A quadrilateral evolutionary game analysis

Tingting Tian et al.

Summary: The study finds that promoting a widespread low-carbon transition in the context of carbon-neutral requires attention to the game and interaction among multiple stakeholders. Increased consumer preference for low-carbon and proper intervention measures can facilitate the transition. In addition, rent-seeking behavior and dereliction of duty between producers and third-party certifiers need to be closely monitored by regulators.

Study on the sustainability evaluation and development path selection of China's coal base from the perspective of spatial field

Sai Chen et al.

Summary: This paper explores the sustainability evaluation and development path selection of China's coal base from the perspective of spatial field. The gravity model was used to measure the attractive force of coal base, and the impact and optimal development path of the Sanjin coal base from 2009 to 2030 were analyzed using Vensim. It was concluded that coordinated development path of the coal base is essential for steady growth and pollution avoidance.

Incentives for personal carbon account: An evolutionary game analysis on public-private-partnership reconstruction

Xin Zhao et al.

Summary: This paper explores effective incentive mechanisms for personal carbon accounts (PCAs) to reduce household carbon emissions. A novel Public-Private Partnership model is proposed to integrate government mechanisms and market mechanisms, showing that market mechanisms are crucial for the healthy development of PCAs. The study finds that government subsidies and market mechanisms play key roles in promoting the development of PCAs.

Provincial allocation of renewable portfolio standard in China based on efficiency and fairness principles

Jie Xu et al.

Summary: This study establishes two quota allocation models for renewable energy targets, LC-RPS and IN-RPS, and compares them with the GM-RPS and the NO-RPS scenarios. Results show that LC-RPS has lower power generation cost but slightly lower fairness compared to the other three scenarios, still demonstrating relative fairness in power generation cost.

Macroeconomic effect of energy transition to carbon neutrality: Evidence from China's coal capacity cut policy

Yanfang Zhang et al.

Summary: The transition to carbon neutrality is inevitable, but policymakers must balance this with economic concerns. In the short term, coal capacity cuts will reduce social welfare, necessitating innovative policy tools.
