Franziska Oberhaus et al.

Summary: Polythiophene and other conductive polymers can be obtained via electropolymerization from various solvents, with boron trifluoride diethyl etherate (BFEE) being a preferred choice. By understanding the mechanism behind lowered oxidation potentials in BFEE, the catalysis allows for reproducible synthesis of high quality conductive polymer films with improved properties. The presented technique can be considered as a universal tool for the fabrication of innovative and trendsetting applications.
