The role of nucleoside triphosphate hydrolase metallochaperones in making metalloenzymes

Summary: Metalloenzymes rely on metallochaperones, such as nucleoside triphosphate hydrolases (NTPases), for the incorporation of metal ions and metallocofactors. This review discusses the recent literature on NTPase metallochaperones, including mechanistic proposals and available structural data. The challenges and future directions in studying these complicated systems are also highlighted.
