Summary: This paper studies the throughflow effect on thermal instability in a Hele-Shaw cell filled with nanofluid, under gravity modulation, through linear and nonlinear stability analyses. The Brinkman model for nanofluid is considered, incorporating Brownian motion and thermophoresis effects. Throughflow, gravity modulation, and Hele-Shaw number are found to play important roles in heat and mass transfer, with an increase in Hele-Shaw number decreasing heat transfer but increasing mass transfer.
