Synthesis and characterization of sodium alginate/polyvinyl alcohol/zinc oxide/iron oxide nanocomposites for electrochemical applications

Summary: Polymer nanocomposite films based on sodium alginate (NaAlg) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) complexed with zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) and iron oxide nanorods (Fe3O4 NRs) as nanofiller were prepared using solution casting technique. The presence of ZnO/Fe3O4 NPs in the polymeric matrices was confirmed by XRD investigation, while TEM images revealed the spherical shape of ZnO nanoparticles and the size of Fe3O4 NRs. The FTIR absorption spectra showed peak positions and intensity variations with increasing concentration of ZnO NPs/Fe3O4 NRs.

Investigation of Structural and Optical Characteristics of Biopolymer Composites Based on Polyvinyl Alcohol Inserted with PbS Nanoparticles

Summary: The film casting method is used to synthesize PVA films with different concentrations of PbS nanoparticles. The impact of PbS loading on the properties of PVA films, particularly the optical properties, is studied using XRD, FTIR, and UV-vis spectroscopy. The results show changes in the intensity of spectral bands and the crystal structure of the composites. PbS NPs decrease the transmission of UV and visible light through the polymer composites and enhance their ability to reflect incident light. The optical bandgap energy, refractive index, and other optical parameters are also analyzed.

Modification and development in the microstructure of PVA/CMC-GO/ Fe3O4 nanocomposites films as an application in energy storage devices and magnetic electronics industry

Summary: Nanocomposite films were prepared using the casting method with carboxymethylcellulose (CMC)/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and GO/Fe3O4 as nanofillers. The films exhibited promising properties in terms of structure, vibration, optics, conductivity, dielectric, and magnetism. The addition of GO/Fe3O4 resulted in an increase in the amorphous phase and a redshift in the optical bandgap. Fourier-transform infrared analysis confirmed the coordination/hydrogen bonding between the nanofillers and the polymer blend. The nanocomposite films showed superparamagnetic behavior according to vibrating sample magnetometer measurements. The unique features of CMC/PVA-GO/Fe3O4 films make them suitable for various industries such as magnetic electronics, energy storage devices, and optoelectronics.

Boosting optical and electrical characteristics of polyvinyl alcohol/carboxymethyl cellulose nanocomposites by GNPs/MWCNTs fillers as an application in energy storage devices

Summary: The study focused on manufacturing polyvinyl alcohol and carboxymethyl cellulose films containing graphene nanoplates (GNPs)/MWCNTs to enhance optical, dielectric, and electrical properties. X-ray diffraction analysis highlighted the interaction between blend chains and GNPs/MWCNTs, showing a decrease in semicrystallinity with increasing GNPs/MWCNTs content. Ultraviolet (UV)-vis spectroscopy methods were used to examine the optical characteristics, while the frequency-dependent AC conductivity of the nanocomposites films analyzed the dynamic behavior of ions and revealed improved ionic conductivity with higher GNPs/MWCNTs concentration.

Enhancing the structural, thermal, and dielectric properties of the polymer nanocomposites based on polymer blend and barium titanate nanoparticles for application in energy storage

Summary: Solution casting and ultrasonic-assisted solution-cast methods were used to create polymer nanocomposites films based on polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) filled with varying concentrations of BaTiO3 nanoparticles. The properties of the nanocomposites, such as conductivity, dielectric constant, and dielectric loss, were investigated as a function of BaTiO3 concentration. The results show significant variations in the properties of the nanocomposites with different BaTiO3 concentrations, which have potential applications in polymer organic semiconductors, energy storage, polymer solar cells, and nanoelectronics.

Synthesis of carbon nanotubes/titanium dioxide and study of its effect on the optical, dielectric, and mechanical properties of polyvinyl alcohol/sodium alginate for energy storage devices

Summary: The solvent casting technique was used to prepare polymer nanocomposites doped with MWCNTs/TiO2 in PVA/SA blend, resulting in modifications to the structure confirmed by XRD, FTIR, and TEM analyses. TGA revealed excellent thermal stability, enhanced AC conductivity and dielectric properties, as well as improved electrical and mechanical properties in the nanocomposites compared to pure PVA/SA blends.

α-MoO3 nanobelts/CMC-PVA nanocomposites: hybrid materials for optoelectronic and dielectric applications

Summary: Polymer nanocomposites (PNCs) of Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)/Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) incorporated with MoO3 nanobelts were prepared and characterized in terms of crystal structure, morphology, optical properties, and dielectric properties. The results showed that the addition of MoO3 nanobelts significantly influenced the crystallinity and optical parameters of the PNCs, leading to improved dielectric properties and conductivity. These findings have potential implications for various electric and optoelectronic applications.

Tailoring the structural, optical, dielectric, and electrical properties of PEO/PVA blend using graphene nanoplates for energy storage devices

Summary: Our study investigates the influence of different concentrations of graphene nanoplates (GNPTs) on the properties of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/polyethylene oxide (PEO) nanocomposites. The results show that the addition of GNPTs enhances the amorphousness and reduces the crystallinity of the PEO/PVA polymer. The GNPTs also interact with the polymeric matrix. Furthermore, increasing the GNPTs concentration decreases the optical band gaps.

Summary: In this study, PVA:Bi2O3 composites were prepared by integrating different amounts of Bi2O3 with PVA using casting methodology. The influence of Bi2O3 filler loading on the structure of PVA was investigated through XRD and FTIR approaches. The results showed polymer/filler interactions. The optical properties and band gap energy were analyzed using Tauc's model and the W-D model. The introduction of Bi2O3 filler reduced the band gap energy of PVA.

Summary: Hybrid nanofillers loading has been used to fabricate multifunctional composites, with silica and cobalt ferrite nanoparticles combined to form a new hybrid composite structure in this study. The resulting hybrid nanocomposites showed improved mechanical properties compared to individually loaded nanoparticles or pristine composite materials. The SEM images revealed good fiber/matrix interfacial bonding in the hybrid composite.

The structure and optical properties of PVA-BaTiO3 nanocomposite films

Summary: This study aimed to synthesize BaTiO3 nanocrystalline particles using the tartrate precursor process, and then prepare nanocomposite films with PVA. Analysis using XRD and FTIR showed complex interactions between BaTiO3 nanoparticles and the PVA matrix. As the concentration of BaTiO3 nanoparticles in the PVA matrix increased, the optical band gap decreased while the Urbach energy increased.
