Adsorption of methyl red from aqueous solution using Bali cow bones (Bos javanicus domesticus) hydrochar powder

Yantus A. B. Neolaka et al.

Summary: Beef consumption generates a significant amount of bone waste. In this study, Bali cow bones-based hydrochar material (BCBHP) was prepared using the hydrothermal carbonization method. The BCBHP material was characterized using various techniques. It was found that BCBHP exhibited high adsorption capacity for methyl red in water samples under specific conditions. The adsorption mechanisms and properties of BCBHP were also investigated and it showed promising potential for dye removal in wastewater treatment.

Indonesian Kesambi wood (Schleichera oleosa) activated with pyrolysis and H2SO4 combination methods to produce mesoporous activated carbon for Pb(II) adsorption from aqueous solution

Yantus A. B. Neolaka et al.

Summary: This study reports the use of Kesambi wood to prepare activated carbon mesoporous adsorbents for lead adsorption in water, with characteristics and performance evaluated through various instruments. The adsorption mechanism was found to follow pseudo-second-order kinetics and Langmuir isotherm, with an exothermic and physisorption process observed. The irregularity of the adsorption system surface decreased during the adsorption process.

Evaluation of magnetic material IIP@GO-Fe3O4 based on Kesambi wood (Schleichera oleosa) as a potential adsorbent for the removal of Cr(VI) from aqueous solutions

Yantus A. B. Neolaka et al.

Summary: The magnetic composite material IIP@GO-Fe3O4 based on GO from kesambi wood was successfully synthesized and demonstrated excellent adsorption performance for Cr(VI). The kinetic modeling revealed a pseudo-second-order mechanism, while the adsorption isotherm followed the Dubinin-Radushkevich model. The study also showed that the adsorption process was favorable at a temperature of 323 K, with higher selectivity and reusability compared to NIP@GO-Fe3O4.
