Stable Porous Organic Polymers Used for Reversible Adsorption and Efficient Separation of Trace SO2

Zhifeng Dai et al.

Summary: The development of porous solid adsorbents for selective adsorption and separation of SO2 has received much attention recently. Porous organic polymers (POPs) decorated with pyridine ligands as building units (POP-Py) were designed through radical polymerization. The POP-Py showed high BET surface area, nanoporosity, excellent stability, and demonstrated reversible adsorption and efficient separation of SO2. When other vinyl-functionalized organic ligand monomers were employed, superior performance for reversible adsorption and efficient separation of SO2 was also observed.

Functional Porous Organic Polymers with Conjugated Triaryl Triazine as the Core for Superfast Adsorption Removal of Organic Dyes

Yong Zhang et al.

Summary: Conjugated triaryl triazines were used to construct porous organic polymer adsorbents with hierarchical porous structures, sheet-like morphology, good surface wettability, and high functionality, offering superfast adsorption of cationic dyes from water. The adsorbent demonstrated a superior pseudo-second-order rate constant for methylene blue dye adsorption and can be regenerated multiple times without performance loss, indicating its potential for water treatment applications.

Adsorption performance and kinetic study of hierarchical porous Fe-based MOFs for toluene removal

Xiaoling Ma et al.

Summary: This study synthesized and evaluated three Fe-based MOFs for toluene adsorption, with MIL-100(Fe) showing the highest equilibrium adsorption capacity. Toluene adsorption on MIL-100(Fe) followed pseudo-first order kinetics and Langmuir isotherm model, primarily attributed to pi-pi stacking interaction.

Conjugated porous polymers for gaseous toluene adsorption in humid atmosphere

Lidan Lan et al.

Summary: Two triphenylamine-based conjugated porous polymers were explored as adsorbents for the removal of gaseous toluene under humid environment. One of them exhibited acceptable adsorption performance in humid atmosphere, the Freundlich equation agrees well with the isothermal data, and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model is suitable to describe the adsorption kinetics.

Xiaodong Zhang et al.

Summary: Anatase/rutile titanium dioxide with heterophase junction and large BET specific surface area was successfully synthesized by calcinating MIL-125(Ti) with 30% O-2/Ar at 600 degrees C. The photocatalytic performance of M-O-600 in degrading toluene and tetracycline under visible light illumination was significantly influenced by calcination temperature, with M-600 displaying outstanding activity.

Facile synthesis of tailored mesopore-enriched hierarchical porous carbon from food waste for rapid removal of aromatic VOCs

Yuxuan Yang et al.

Summary: This study successfully synthesized a series of mesopore-enriched hierarchical porous carbons for rapid adsorption of aromatic volatile organic compounds. The PC/BCs showed larger pore volume and higher adsorption capacity, with 60% mesoporous structure contributing significantly to the rapid capture of VOCs. Furthermore, the PC/BCs also demonstrated excellent thermal regeneration performance for more than four runs.
