Heavy metal pollution, ecological risk, spatial distribution, and source identification in sediments of the Lijiang River, China

Summary: This study collected 61 sediment samples along the Lijiang River to analyze pollution levels and ecological risks. The results showed high concentrations of Cd, Hg, Zn, and Pb in the river sediments, with the midstream area being the most polluted and posing a higher potential ecological risk, primarily due to urbanization and agricultural activities.
