Summary: Jurastenopus, a new genus and species of stenopodideans, was discovered in the Upper Jurassic Solnhofen-type fossil-lagerstatte of Zandt. This new taxon represents the first record of a stenopodidean in the Jurassic and may have had a symbiotic relationship with hexactinellid sponges or coral fishes.
