Characteristics of Quantum Plasmonic Waves Guided by a Symmetric Metal-Gap-Dielectric Nano-system

Mahboubeh Mahmoudi Moghadam et al.

Summary: Using the quantum hydrodynamic model and Maxwell’s equations, this study analyzed the guiding properties of a symmetric conductor-gap-dielectric system, revealing that quantum effects facilitate the propagation of hybrid surface waves at higher wavenumbers. The permittivity of surrounding dielectric mediums and geometric effects significantly modify the basic behaviors of hybrid surface waves in the system, providing a better understanding of wave propagation in hybrid waveguide systems.
