Realization of thousand-second improved confinement plasma with Super I-mode in Tokamak EAST

Yuntao Song et al.

Summary: Mastering nuclear fusion is a challenge for humanity, and the tokamak is a promising path towards controlled fusion. A breakthrough in steady-state operation was recently achieved on the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST), with a world-record pulse length of 1056 seconds. This achievement includes controlled density and divertor heat flux, no core impurity accumulation, and the discovery of a new high-confinement and self-organizing regime.

Real-time prediction of high-density EAST disruptions using random forest

W. H. Hu et al.

Summary: The real-time disruption predictor using random forest was applied for the first time in the EAST tokamak plasma control system, showing effectiveness in predicting high-density disruptions and successfully mitigating disruption damage. By analyzing feature contributions of the predictor, accuracy of warnings can be improved to avoid false alarms.

Implementation and data processing of a five-channel microwave interferometer with high temporal resolution and low noise on Sino-UNIted Spherical Tokamak

Pengjuan Su et al.

Summary: A high temporal resolution and high phase resolution five-channel microwave interferometer has been developed for measuring electron density profiles and fluctuations on the Sino-UNIted Spherical Tokamak. A correction algorithm and Park-matrix method are used to achieve accurate density profile reconstruction. The system has a temporal resolution of 0.5 microseconds and a density resolution of 1 x 10(15) m(-2).

Disruption prediction on EAST tokamak using a deep learning algorithm

B. H. Guo et al.

Summary: The study utilized an LSTM model for disruption prediction on the EAST tokomak, showing slightly lower performance compared to the CNN model but earlier warning time. By adding more fast bolometer channels, the model performance improved with decreased false positive rate.
