Comprehensive characterization of naturally occurring antioxidants from the twigs of mulberry (Morus alba) using on-line high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with chemical detection and high-resolution mass spectrometry

Steve Thomas Pannakal et al.

Summary: An integrated approach using HPLC-CD and HPLC-HRMS was used to detect and identify key antioxidant compounds in the hydroalcoholic extract of M. alba twigs. Thirteen peaks were found to contribute to over 90% of the antioxidant activity, highlighting the efficiency of this method in identifying key compounds. Additionally, a new compound was discovered from the twig extract, showcasing the potential of M. alba as a source of antioxidants.
