Toward three-dimensional patient-specific internal dosimetry using GATE Monte Carlo technique

M. Karimipourfard et al.

Summary: This paper presents a precise methodology for patient-specific internal dosimetry using Monte Carlo simulations and time-activity curve estimation. The results show that the bladder, lung, heart, and liver absorb more activity than other organs, consistent with PET images. The findings are in close agreement with previous investigations that used biokinetic models.

GEANT4 characterization of the neutronic behavior of the active zone of the MEGAPIE spallation target

Abdesslam Lamrabet et al.

Summary: In this study, the reliability of GEANT4 in neutronic calculations for the MEGAPIE spallation target of the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland was evaluated. The impact of geometrical and proton beam models on neutron fluxes was confirmed, with differences reaching a factor of 2 for beam model and 4-18% for other parameters. The analysis of neutron yield indicated that increasing productivity of the MEGAPIE target requires redefining the size of the spallation area more precisely.

Advanced Monte Carlo simulations of emission tomography imaging systems with GATE

David Sarrut et al.

Summary: GATE, built on top of Geant4 toolkit, is collaboratively developed for over 15 years to design Monte Carlo simulations of nuclear-based imaging systems. It is widely used by researchers and industrials to create innovative emission tomography systems and recent developments in simulating modern detectors have been reviewed. Methodological advancements such as Variance Reduction Techniques and Artificial Intelligence integration are discussed for improving detector modeling and computational efficiency.
